In Belgium your 112 call arrives at an operator of the help center 100/112 of the province where you are. You can also reach these operators through the number 100, the Belgian emergency number for the fire brigade intervention and the urgent medical assistance. Calls to the number 112 for urgent police assistance are redirected by the operator to the Communication and Information Center of the integrated police (CIC 101). It therefore is advised to directly call the emergency number 101 for urgent police assistance.

The Help centers 100/112 move one by one to the same ICT infrastructure as the CIC 101: the CAD or Computer Aided Dispatching of ASTRID plc. Currently there are two provinces where the physical and technological migration is completed: East-Flanders and Flemish Brabant. The other provinces will follow in the coming years.

In a next phase the emergency rooms will further fuse. All calls to the emergency numbers 100, 112 and 101 will then be treated by the same group of call takers, who will be able to simultaneously prevent dispatchers from different disciplines. The redirection between emergency rooms within the same province won’t be necessary any more. The management will be executed by the Agency 112, a multidisciplinary body for the management of the 112 centers (Home Affairs, Public Health, integrated police and fire brigade).
